This website contains an experiment being run by Princeton University researchers. We're interested in people's ability to discern true randomness (based on quantum mechanical processes) from the best imitators computer scientists have been able to create. Do you think you can distinguish true randomness from its imitators? Participate in our study to find out! Once you’ve completed the study you’ll learn how well you did overall. Title of Research: Randomness Judgment
This study has been approved by Princeton University's Institutional Review Panel for Human Subjects. I hereby give my consent to participate in your research. You have given me:
- (a) An explanation of the procedures to be followed in the project, including an identification of those which are experimental.
- (b) Provided me with your judgments about the patterns of shapes shown in the experiment.
I understand that:
- (a) My participation is voluntary, and I may withdraw my consent and discontinue participation in the project at any time. My refusal to participate will not result in any penalty.
- (b) By signing this agreement, I do not waive any legal rights or release Princeton University, its agents, or you from liability for negligence.
